CHEVROLET BEL AIR 1960
Our Chevrolet was originally built in 1960 but has had a very gentle life and is therefore in the most extraordinarily original condition. It is named after a very up market town in California and perfectly captures the age when Americans were proud of who they were, and determined to show it.
Outside, this all white car has plenty of chrome and horizontal bat fins at the rear which make the car seem even longer and lower than it actually is. On the sides, Chevrolet have put a jet aircraft shaped moulding with a vapour trail in chrome to give the impression of speed, and the huge area of glass makes for great pictures of the lucky couple within.
Inside the car, it has wide bench seats front and rear which hold six in comfort. The rear legroom makes modern cars seem cramped and the seats are finished with subtle grey and white stripes which complement any bridal colour scheme. No problem holding the largest train.
For petrolheads, this car has an amazingly silent 283 cubic inch (4,600 cc) V8 engine and a Powerglide automatic transmission. It is 17.5 feet long and boasts a silky smooth ride that only American Cars of this era could provide.
Prices for a standard hire start at £300, see Charges.
