In order to ensure that there are no misunderstandings, all bookings are made subject to the following:

Deposits and Cancellation

We require a £100 deposit per car to secure a booking.  This is not refundable unless we are able to re-hire the car for the same date.

The balance of the payment needs to be received by us not later than six weeks before the hire date, otherwise we will assume the booking is cancelled and are free to find another customer.

Where the booking is at short notice, less than six weeks, the full payment needs to be made at the time of booking.

If you have to cancel, the cancellation notice must be in writing and we regret there will be a cancellation fee depending on what notice you give us.  More than 3 months notice,  just the deposit, between 1 and 3 months notice 50% of the hire fee needs to be paid to us and less than 1 month we need 100% of the hire fee.  However, being reasonable, if we find another customer for the date, we will refund up to the full amount depending on what we manage to earn from the new customer.  We are not going to profit from your misfortune.

Understanding Older Cars

Like most wedding car hire businesses, our cars are not exactly new, though we maintain them to a high standard, in the unlikely event they go wrong, it is not always possible to get parts immediately.  In this situation we reserve the right to substitute one of our other cars with an appropriate adjustment in the hire fee accordingly (though we would never charge you more).  We would not normally hire out all our cars on the same day for this reason.  If we have to substitute a two door car, we will refund 50% of the hire fee for your inconvenience.

In the event of a breakdown during the hire, we will do our best to supply an alternative vehicle, but cannot be held responsible for any consequences arising from the delay.

Our cars date from a time when seatbelts were not required to be fitted.  Passengers therefore travel at their own risk.  However, our cars are fully insured, and even though pre-1960 vehicles no longer need to pass an MOT test, our cars will have been subjected to and passed an equivalent annual test conducted by a registered MOT station.

General Conditions of Hire

Although we will always do our utmost to be where we should be at the agreed time, we cannot be held responsible for late arrival or cancellation as a result of circumstances out of our control.  

We will do our best to accommodate any last minute deviations or changes to your schedule, but reserve the right to charge for additional time and/or mileage.  If we have other bookings that day, such changes may not be possible.

Sorry, we don’t smoke and neither do most of our customers, so smoking in our cars is not permitted.  However, we can always arrange a stop for a nervous bride or groom should the need arise.

The hirer will be held fully responsible for any damage or loss caused to any part of the vehicle (or its driver) caused by the hirer, his or her passengers or anyone associated with the wedding or event.  This includes damage caused as a result of, for example, water, mud or spillages that require anything more than normal cleaning or vacuuming after the hire.

We cannot be held responsible for property belonging to the hirer, the hirer’s passengers or guests.

We promise to act with discretion and the relationship between us and the hirer stays between us. However, we would normally expect that we could use photographs for publicity purposes unless specifically requested not to.

Any losses or damages suffered by the hirer, for whatever reason, are limited to the cost of the hire.
