FORD MUSTANG COUPE 1966
Our Mustang, named after a wild horse, comes from a different generation dating from the sixties when the styling of American cars had changed from extravagance to classic simplicity. The original Mustang Coupe is an iconic shape and was the fastest selling car of all time when it was launched in mid 1964.
This one was built in 1966 and is very original, it also has a few special touches like the styled wheels, extra instruments and better trim.
For passengers it is of course a two door car but it comfortably seats four including the driver, though it is not as big as our other cars. However, it is possible to wind down both front and rear side windows to give a great view of the passengers in the back. We have used it to transport the bride, but it is not a bad way for the groom and best man to arrive!
For Petrolheads, this has the baby 289 cubic inch (4,700 cc) V8 with 225 tamed horsepower and a four speed stick shift. It also has disc brakes and, being comparatively light, has a straightline performance in keeping with the noise it makes.
Prices for a standard hire start at £275, see Charges.
